With more than 20 years of journalism and communications experience, I offer a diverse mix of writing and editing services. 

Reporting and writing

I am a thorough reporter who prides herself on filing clean, well-researched, and well-sourced copy on deadline. My areas of expertise include higher education, philanthropy, health, fitness, and sports writing (my focus is Olympic sports and athlete profiles). I can handle assignments that require a quick turnaround, depending on my schedule, and long-term features that demand in-depth and investigative reporting.

Editing

I have held numerous senior editing positions throughout my career and have also taken on book editing projects. I am well-versed in AP Style and Chicago Manual of Style and a gifted proofreader. 

Nonprofit and event communications

I am the former executive director of Team Run Flagstaff, a nonprofit running organization serving all ages and abilities in Northern Arizona, named one of the country's best by Outside magazine. I also spearheaded communications for the New York Road Runners Foundation Team for Kids, an endurance-sports training group that raises money for youth running programs across the country. In both roles I created internal and external communication strategies, including weekly newsletters, social media campaigns, website copy, press releases, blog content, donor correspondence, fund-raising appeals, and more.
